The college was started on the 4th of July, 2016 and is affiliated with Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University (MKBU). With an aim to impart and empower young girls, the college provides a platform for school students to continue their education in the same premises and incoming students to be in a safe and secure premise.
We strive to materialize the vision of value-based education through:
To enrich young minds with value-based education with an objective of all-round development.
Long, long ago, in a kingdom called Bhavnagar, there lived a queen with remarkable foresight and vision. Maharani Nandkunverba Saheba, a strong and influential partner to her husband, Maharaja Bhavsinhji, recognized that empowering women and ensuring a progressive society could only be achieved through the education of the female population. Thus, in the year 1917, she laid the foundation for Shree Nandkunverba Kshatriya Kanya Vidyalaya.
I hope this message finds you in great health and high spirits, thriving in both your academic and personal lives. As the principal of the esteemed Maharanishree Nandkunverba Mahila Arts and Commerce College, it is both an honor and a privilege to address such a diverse and talented group of individuals. As one enters the city of Bhavnagar in Gujarat, one is greeted by the statue of H.H. Maharaja Krishna Kumarsinhji , the last ruler of the kingdom of Bhavnagar. The first to hand over his state to the union of India, he later served as the Governor of Madras. He is revered even today for his magnanimity and the era of his brilliant administration. On the right side of the statue is his original residence, Nilambag Palace, now a heritage hotel. On the other side is the campus of the iconic girls’ school and college responsible for enabling generations of young women to face the world armed with a well-rounded education. Peacocks roam freely, cherubic young faces smile, and the light of knowledge shines benignly upon the school. Amidst the old-world charm and the modern spirit of this institution, bloom many students who then carry forth the rich inheritance of tradition and progress.
